SCOTTISH GOLFERS ALLIANCE CHAMPIONSHIP TERMS

Conditions
  1. The championship will be player over Boat of Garten course
  2. The committee of the North Scottish Golfers Alliance will be responsible for the organisation of the Championship.  It's decisions on all matters will be final.
  3. The Championship will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Ltd and the local rules as approved by the Committee.
  4. The Championship will be played over 54 holes of stroke play.  Each player will play 36 holes over Boat of Garten course and leading half of the field and those tied for the last place will play a final round on Thursday after the consolation competition. 
  5. Players not qualifying for the final round will be entered for a consolation 18 hole handicap event and will play before the final round on the Thursday morning
  6. Practice rounds will be available on Monday 1st October at a cost of £18. Contact Pro Shop 01479 831 228
  7. Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorised by the committee.

Prizes
  1. The Scotsman Trophy shall be awarded to the lowest aggregate scratch score and the winner will be declared Scottish Alliance Champion.
  2. The Clydesdale Bank Quaich shall be awarded to best aggregate scratch score by an amateur. (If an amateur wins the Scotsman Trophy the Quaich shall go to the second amateur.)
  3. The Caldwell Trophy shall be awarded to the best aggregate scratch score over 2 rounds by a senior amateur.
  4. The Mountbatten Cup shall be awarded to the district alliance returning the best aggregate of 6 scores not more than 3 of which may be by a professional golfer.
  5. There shall be individual prizes for aggregate scratch scores over 3 rounds returned by professionals and amateurs and handicap scores returned by amateurs depending on the size of the entry.  Details of these will be published before the competition starts. The first prize for a professional golfer shall be not less than £1200.
  6. There shall be separate handicap prizes for the 18th hole consolation event on Thursday.
  7. In the event of a tie for the Scotsman Trophy or the Clydesdale Bank Quaich there will be a hole by hole playoff.  Ties for the other prizes will be decided by matching scorecards. 

Eligibility
  1. The Championship is open to members of the five district Alliances in Scotland.
  2. Players must have played 25% of last season's Alliance fixtures.
  3. Amateur golfers must hold a national handicap of 16 or less.

Entry
  1. Entry must be on the official entry form.
  2. It must be sent to the Championship Secretary. The closing date for entries is Monday 17th September 2018.
  3. It must be accompanied by the entry fee of £55 payable to North Scottish Golfers Alliance. If withdrawal is received after the closing date the entry fee will be non-returnable.
  4. The draw will be made on Tuesday 18th September 2018 and will be advised to all entrants. Starting times will be between 08:00 and 13:00
  5. Competitors will be required to register 30 minutes before their  Tuesday start time.
