Philip Brown wins Angus boys' stroke-play title but loses first match-play tie

Monifieth's Philip Brown won in the Angus boys' stroke-play championship at Letham Grange's Glens course with rounds of 67 and 72.
There were only 14 entries compared with 40 in recent years.
Brown later lost by one hole to Jamie Miller in the first round of the match-play championship. The final, between Miller and Rory Bain will tee off at 9am tomorrow (Thursday).
Ewan Wheat (Royal Montrose) was officially placed second to Brown on a card countback against Joel Thomson (Royal Montrose). They both finished on 141 with scores of 73 and 68.
Thomson was the winner of the handicap championship.
Finn Coull (Royal Montrose) won the Under-14s' championship.
