Craig Lawrie wins with a 64 at Longniddry

FROM JOHN HENRY
A fantastic sunny Sunday afternoon at Longniddry GC, so much so myself and a few others had the shorts on! We started off with a lovely lunch. Prawn cocktail and sirloin steaks seemed to be the favourite choice. Then we headed to warm up and do battle.

Thirteen out of our field of18 players will tee it up again at Longniddry next weekend for the ASI Scottish Open qualifier so a great opportunity for those professionals to see the course and make a P.O.A.

Craig Lawrie posted the winning score  of four under par 64 , followed closely by Danny Young  66 and Sean Lawrie 67. I had the pleasure of playing along side Sean. A fine display of putting today from young Sean helped save some pars and sneaked a few birdies.

Massive thanks to Bob Gunning and all at Longniddry for hosting us today. We were all really well looked after and, of course, a big thank you to Tour sponsor Ian Henderson of Golf Finance who was out on the course taking some pictures.

Our last event of the season will be held at Caldwell GC on August 24 when our order of merit places 1st -3rd will receive their bonus. Paul O'Hara looks set to win the OOM after a very consistent display of solid golf.
