Steve Jamieson (Nigg Bay), whose father Donald won the Scottish amateur championship at Royal Aberdeen in 1980, toppled No 1 seed Barry Reid (Caledonian) this evening, to reach Saturday afternoon's final of the Aberdeen Links championship.
Jamieson won by 3 and 2 and will now play Stuart Whyte (Caledonian) who had to go to the 21st to beat Craig Ross (Northern) in the other semi-final.

LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP - S Jamieson (Nigg Bay) bt B Reid (Caledonian) 3 and 2, S Whyte bt C Ross (Northern) at 21st.
HANDICAP SHIELD - D Forbes (Caledonian) (7) bt J Gray (Caledonian) (7) 7 and 6, S Slessor (Northern) (4) bt M Ingram (Caledonian) (3) at 19th.
MURRAY CUP - M Boyd (Bon Accord) (14) bt R Stuart (Caledonian) (10) 5 and 4, S Wemyss (Caledonian) (20) bt J Forrest (Northern) (12), retired after eight holes.
