MACGARVIE AND GOADBY JOINT LEADERS

 

AFTER FIRST Q ROUND OF SCOTTISH

 

WOMEN'S AMATEUR

Hazel MacGarvie (Troon Ladies) and Chloe Goadby (St Regulus Ladies) continued their recent good form in the first qualifying round of the 104th Scottish women's amateur golf championship at Elie Links, Fife today (Tuesday).

Both shot six-under-par 67s to lead by one from Hannah McCook (Grantown on Spey) who won the Welsh and Irish women's stroke play open titles in consecutive weeks and led with one round to go in the prestigious St Rule Trophy tournament at St Andrews at the weekend before finish joint fourth with Goadby behind English winner Lianna Bailey.

The leading 32 players after the second qualifying round will advance to the match-play stages of the championship.

The next 16 will play in the Clark Rosebowl match-play tournament.
