Curtis Cupper Olivia Mehaffey will now join team after Shoal Creek exit

Catriona Matthew makes ace on day two at US Women's Open but will miss cut

Solheim Cup captain Catriona Matthew marked her 23rd appearance in the US Women's Open with a stunning slam-dunk hole-in-one in the second round
Catriona Matthew provided the outstanding highlight of the second round at the US Women's Open as she made an incredible hole-in-one.
The European Solheim Cup captain, making her 23rd appearance in the tournament, was struggling on six-over par and heading for an early exit at Shoal Creek in Alabama, but she enjoyed a moment of magic at the short fifth.

Coming off a double-bogey at the third followed by another dropped shot at the fourth, the popular Scot found the perfect response with her tee shot to the 154-yard par-three.
The fixed camera behind the green captured Matthew's ball disappearing straight into the hole on the fly, and it appeared to be close to climbing back out again before settling at the bottom of the cup.

That shot put Matthew right on the projected cut mark of three over par, but she unfortunately closed with a double-bogey at the ninth to card a 75 for 149, one stroke above the projected cut mark. Bad weather means the second round has not been completed yet.
Olivia Mehaffey from Northern Ireland, a member of the GB and I Curtis Cup team for the June 8-10 match against the USA at Quaker Ridge, missed the US Women's Open cut with rounds of 76 and 77 for 153. She will now be able to join the GB and I squad who travelled to Quaker Ridge earlier this week after a day's delay at Heathrow - courtesy of British Airways and a "technical fault."
