Michele Thomson finishes fourth in Australia
Ellon's Michele Thomson (Meldrum House), Scottish women's amateur champion and Curtis Cup team player in 2008, earned £935 for a fourth place finish in the Gold Coast Challenge women's pro tournament over 36 holes at Links Hope Island, Queensland, Australia.
Thomson, pictured, who had her 30th birthday on March 11, scored 70 and 72 for 142 - four strokes behind the Australian winner of the title and £2,550 first prize, Breanna Gill, who had scores of 68 and 70 for six-under-par 138 and a two-stroke victory from Belgium's Manon de Roey (73-67).
England's Felicity Johnson (73-70) finished T5 on 143.
Compatriots Sarah-Jane Boyd (79-79) and Charlotte Thompson (78-81) finished T42 and T47 on 158 and 159 respectively.
There was a field of 54 competitors
