THREE SCOTS IN LEADING 10 AT SOUTH 

AFRICAN AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

Three Scots are in the top 10 at the end of the first qualifying round of the Sanlam South African men's amateur championship at Durban Country Club.

Cawder's Calum Fyfe, pictured, is in second place on two-under-par 70 - three behind the leader, England's David Langley (Berkshire), while Darren Howie (Peebles) is sharing third place on 73 and Euan Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) is joint eighth with a one-over 73.
After a second stroke-play round, the leading 64 go on to the match-play stages.
Scots players have a good record in this overseas championship with Craig Ross the winner in 2016, Danny Young 2015, Brian Soutar 2012 and Michael Stewart 2011.
John Paterson (St Andrews New) is T24 with a 75 and Scottish amateur champion Sam Locke from Stonehaven is T42 with a 77.
