BRUCE THOMSON WINS NORTH SCOTTISH ALLIANCE AT HOPEMAN

Bruce Thomson, a member of Inverness Golf Club, won today's (Sat) North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixture with a level par 62 over a 16-hole Hopeman Golf Club winter course. Temporary greens were in use and holes 12 and 15 (both par-3s) were closed.
Thomson headed a field of 54 with birdies at the eighth, 16th and 17th, offset by bogeys at the third, seventh and ninth.

He scored his first win of the Alliance season  by one stroke from clubmate Andy Philip who birdied the 10th and 17th but bogeyed the third, eighth and 11th,

Jimmy Macdonald, who plays off 16 at Inverness Golf Club, would have won Section 2 of the handicap but for finishing with a 10 for a net 61 which placed him joint second.
