It's a breeze for Shields but Stewart

makes it on limit mark

Cambuslang's Paul Shields breezed through to Stage 2 of the European Tour Qualifying School at Stoke by Nayland Golf Club, Essex today but compatriot Michael Stewart made it on the limit mark while John Henry missed out by 11 shots.
Shields, always in the mix after starting the 72-hole competition with a 65, added scores of 70, 71 and 70 for an eight-under-par aggregate of 276 and joint third place among the 20 qualifiers for the next stage behind American Steven Burak whose 14-under-par 270 total had him finishing five shots clear.
Stewart (Troon Welbeck) shot 70, 73, 69 and 69 to hit the limit mark of three-under 281 and qualify in joint 17th place.
Henry (Clydebank and Dist) finished on eight-over 292 and joint 57th place after rounds of 71, 72, 76 and 73.
