Darren Howie wins one, halves one on Day 1 of Jacques Leglise Trophy at Ballybunion

Darren Howie (Peebles) won his singles tie and halved his foursomes with Luke Harries from Wales as Great Britain and Ireland trailed the Continent of Europe by one point (6.5-5.5) at the end of the first day of the Jacques Leglise boys' international match at Ballybunion Golf Club, Ireland.
Howie (pictured) beat Markus Braadlie (Norway) by 4 and 2 in the singles after the Scot and Harries had halved their morning foursomes against Matias Honkala (Finland) and Braadlie.
The Continent of Europe shaded the foursomes 2.5-1.5 and shares the singles 4-4.
