The first round of our 54 hole, U15 and U13 Open Championship took place today at Ratho Park GC. The course was in immaculate condition for the boys and girls and the rain managed to stay away for most of the day.
Congratulations to all the boys and girls playing today as they all managed to get round the course in under 3 hr 30min with some quality golf.
The girls are receiving a five-stroke deduction over the boys on each day because of the standard scratch score. The CSS for the first day was 67 for the boys and 72 for the girls
Malachy Hayward is leading the scratch U15 with a 73, while Valdemar Hundeboll leads the scratch U13 with a 76.
In the handicap division Lucy Hall leads U15 with a nett 60 and Jodie Graham the U13 with a nett 62.
There are though a number of players close by, so it is set up for an exciting day tomorrow.
