Newmachar first through to Aberdeen

Congratulations to Newmachar on becoming the first club to qualify for this year’s Aberdeen and District Pennant League semi-finals, to be hosted by Peterculter and Nigg Bay on Sunday, August 6. 

Newmachar completed their League B programme with a victory at Auchmill and maximum points from their games played.

It’s tight at the top of League C with three teams - Banchory, Deeside and Bon Accord - tied on 6 points.

Bon Accord have, however, played one match fewer than their rivals. 

The real shock in League C is the plight of current holders and favourites, Murcar Links, who have lost both matches to date and are struggling to qualify. They went down 3-2 at Banchory.

In League A, Royal Aberdeen retain pole position with 6 points despite it being their bye week. Northern, who beat Caledonian 3.5-1.5 are two points further adrift.
