Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters

Michael Stewart earns £4,500 for joint 2nd


place finish at Montrose Links

Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) had arguably his best tournament since he turned pro in earning £4,500 for a joint second finish with a 13-under-par total of 200 in the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters EuroPro Tour 54 hole event at Montrose Links today (Thursday).

The former Walker Cup player (pictured right) from Ayrshire had rounds of 64, 72 and 64, having an eagle and five birdies in his final round, to tie with Nick Marsh (Huddersfield) (67-69-64), two shots behind the winner of the £10,000 first prize, Englishman Chris Lloyd (Kendleshire) (64-72-64) for 15-under 198.


Conor O'Neil (Mearns Castle Golf Academy) slumped to a final-round of seven-over-par 78 after challenging scores of 66 and 75
O'Neil, whose final inward half of 42 included a double bogey 7 at the 15th and a double bogey 6 at the 17th, finished with a total of one-under-par 212

Craig Lawrie (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre), pictured, earned £538 for sharing 15th place on 204 with three rounds of 68.
Highlights of the Eagle Orchid Scottish Masters will air on Sky Sports on Tuesday, June 27.
The HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour continues with the PDC Golf Championship at Studley Wood Golf Club, Oxford from Wednesday, June 21 to Friday, June 23.
