Nicol wins £1,000 first prize by wearing down Forsyth over final stretch

Kris Nicol (Dunes Golf Centre, near Fraserburgh) scored the best win of his pro career when he outduelled overnight leader Alastair Forsyth (Mearns Castle) over the last nine holes to win the £1,000 first prize in the Scottish Young Pros Championship at West Lothian by one stroke.
Forsyth, the long-time leader, let the title slip through his grasp when he was one over par for his last 10 holes in contrast to Nicol's three-under-par figures for his last 12 holes. Birdies at the 14th ad 16th seal the North-east man's victory
