Royal Aberdeen only home winners on first night of Pennant League

Royal Aberdeen, last year's beaten finalists, were the only home winners when the 2017 Aberdeen and District Men's Pennant League competition, sponsored by Molly's Bistro and Malone's Irish Bar of the Douglas Hotel, Market Street, got underway this evening.
They whitewashed Stonehaven 5-0 at Balgownie to be the early leaders of Section A.
Elsewhere, all the "on the road" teams won.
The Section B leadership is shared by Hazlehead, who won 3-2 at Auchmill, and Newmachar, who won 3.5-1.5 at Portlethen.
In Section C, Bon Accord and Banchory are joint leaders. Bon Accord won 3-2 at Craibstone and Banchory won 3.5-1.5 at Deeside.
