David Morrison wins Phillips Trophy

David Morrison (Meldrum House) won the North-east District's Phillips Trophy stroke-play competition at Royal Tarlair today.
It was his third success in this tournament over the past four years.
Last year's winner, Callum Bruce, did not defend. He played instead in the Battle Trophy tournament at Crail.
Morrison spreadeagled the field with rounds of 70 and 69 for a 139 total, finishing three strokes ahead of runner-up Barrie Edmond (Bon Accord)  (71-71) and six ahead of third-placed Jordan Calder (Newmachar) (72-73).
Third-placed Jordan Calder (Newmachar) was a further three shots behind with 72 and 73 for 145.
