Alistair Kyle from Glasgow, a final-year student at Davis and Elkins College, West Virginia and a member of East Renfrewshire Golf Club, won the G-MAC Spring Collegiate Championship this week at Four Bridges Country Club, Liberty Township in Ohio.

Alistair, pictured above with the Davis and Elkins coach,  son of well-known West of Scotland golfer, Gillian Kyle, had rounds of 76, 74 and 67 for a one-over-par total of 217 over two par-72 courses of 6,736 and 6,749yd.
He won the tournament by one shot, thanks to a brilliant final nine holes in his third round.
Kyle, who had birdied the seventh on his way to the turn in 35, came back in only 32 shots with birdies at the 10th, 11th and 13th, then an eagle 3 at the long 14th, followed by a fifth birdie at the short 15th. He bogeyed the 13tyh and 17th.
Davis and Elkins team-mates James Sutherland, a third-year man from Glasgow and Ben Marshall, a sophomore from Dunstable, finished T8 and T24 respectively in a field of 35 competitors.
Sutherland had scores of 75, 77 and 75 for 227 while Marshall had rounds of 77, 81 and 85 for 243.
Yet another team-mate, Jack Gibson, a sophomore from Brelade, Jersey, finished 32nd on 249 (79-85-85).
But Davis and Elkins did not win the team title. Their total of 909 was topped by Trevecca Nazarene who totalled 900 by placing all five team members in the top 15

As a team, Davis and Elkins have won four times this college year with a 2nd and 3rd as well.

Individually, Kelly has had only this win to his credit but he has finished second twice and third once.
