Season's best T11 finish by Matt Dalrymple
King University, Tennessee freshman student Matt Dalrymple, from Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire, and a member of Old Course Ranfurly Golf Club, finished in a tie for 11th place, a season's best, in a field of 45 at the Conference Carolina's Men's Championship at the 7,190 yard, par 72, Cutters Creek GC, Snow Hill in North Carolina this week.
Left-hander Matt, pictured, shot a two-over-par 74 to add to his first-round 75. Heavy rain and thunderstorms disrupted Round 2 and cancelled Round 3.
In the worst of the conditions on Monday Matt fell back to +3 after seven holes. When play resumed on Tuesday he rallied to finish with a two-over-par 74 which included birdies at the second, third and 11th with bogeys at the eighth, 10th, 12th, 13th and 17th in halves of 35-39.
King Tornado finished tied in third place of the nine competing teams.
