Nairn boys head scratch returns at PLF competition at Tain

With the aid of Highland Golf Links, a partnership of three leading golf clubs in the North - Royal Dornoch, Nairn and Castle Stuart - and three major hotels, the Paul Lawrie Foundation’s second winter programme of junior events in the North had its second competition of the winter at Tain Golf Club today.
Nineteen, boys all under the age of 18, turned up to play and heading the scratch returns were the Nairn duo of Calum Scott and Hamish McColm. McColm came home in 36 to win the first-prize voucher. Scott’s inward half was 38. In third place with a 78 was Ruari Mair from Buckpool .
Danny Doogan, the Golspie junior club champion, headed the net returns with a 70, off 10, and in the tie split of two net 74s 20-handicapper Ross Donachue (The Nairn) came second and Lewis Fraser (Inverness) third.
