STEWART WINS SUPER SENIORS 

OPEN AT STRATHMORE

Bob Stewart (Tulliallan) won the Scottish Super Seniors Open (for players aged 65 and over), sponsored by McCrea Financial Services, at Strathmore, adding 72 to his first round of 71 for an excellent one under par aggregate total of 143 and a seven- shot victory.

Derek Sim (Grange) added a fine score of 73 to tie for second place with John Johnston (Royal Aberdeen) on 150. Derek also won the separate event for players over the age of 70 with Andrew Laird (Deeside) in second place.

Keith Bruce (Edzell) was in fourth place on 151 with the defending champion, Gordon MacDonald (Glenbervie) in fifth place on 152.

Stewart is a former Scottish Senior champion and has won most of the Scottish Seniors Golfing Society titles. Competing for the first time in this event he has now added to his extensive collection of titles.

The CSS for the day was 72.
