Hahn wins Wells Fargo title play-off
FROM GOLF.COM
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – James Hahn loves play-offs, and why wouldn’t he?
The Wells Fargo Championship winner three-putted the 72nd hole on Sunday to finish at 9 under and had to watch Roberto Castro salvage a par at the last to force overtime.
In the playoff, Hahn calmly two-putted for par after Castro hit his drive in a creek and made bogey. It was Hahn’s second victory on the US PGA Tour, both in playoffs.
“To be given another opportunity to win the golf tournament, that really excites me,” said Hahn, who closed with a 2-under 70. “I take a lot from other sports and going overtime in basketball, there's just nothing else like it to have the game winning shot or the last putt to win a golf tournament.”
Hahn’s first Tour title came at last year’s Northern Trust Open in a three-man playoff, and his lone victory on the Web.com Tour came in extra frames when he outlasted Scott Parel at the 2012 Rex Hospital Open.
Hahn was also quick to add, “Canadian Tour first victory, playoff. It's special,” he smiled.
