Chris Robb loses play-off in Austria
By COLIN FARQUHARSON
Banchory's Chris Robb (Meldrum House) forced a play-off climax to the German PGA Development Tour's Haugschlag Open in Austria with a brilliant final round of 65, which included an eagle 2 at the par-4 first hole and birdies at the third, sixth, ninth, 13th and 15th.
But Robb's hopes of a maiden win on the tour were killed at the second extra hole which he bogeyed, allowing his opponent Stanislav Matus (Czech Republic) to win with a par.
They had tied on 18-under-par 198, Matus with scores of 63, 64 and 71; Robb (pictured) with rounds of 66, 67 and 65.
The winner earned 5,000 euros and Robb 3,000.
Ellon's Ross Cameron (Saltire Energy) fell back to a final placing of joint ninth on 205 with scores of 67, 66 and 72. Still a very good effort.
