Former Open champion John Daly collapsed on the 18th hole of a Mississippi golf course on Saturday and was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, according to Yahoo and Associated Press reports.
Daly, 49, was playing at a small outing outside of Jackson, Mississippi, when he collapsed. He is being checked for injuries to his fingers and ribs, according to the AP.
Deerfield club professional Leigh Brannan told the AP that Daly was having trouble with the heat with temperatures in the 90s.
Daly has missed the cut in eight of 10 events on the US PGA Tour this season.
