Four Scots in last 16 - and McDonald plays
MacIntyre in third round
There are only four Scots left in the last 16 of the British Amateur Championship at Carnoustie - and two of them are playing each other in the third round.
Grant Forrest (Craigielaw) won by 3 and 1 against Gisli Sveinbergsson (Iceland) in their second round match this morning.
Greig Marchbank (Thornhill) was a 2 and 1 winner against Yannick Paul (Germany)
Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) beat Welshman David Boote at the 20th.
And Robert MacIntyre (Glencruitten) bt GB and I Walker Cup team contender Jimmy Mullen (Royal North Devon) by two holes.
McDonald v MacIntyre is a third-round tie in progress at the time of writing.
The only Scot to lost in the second round was Kirkhill's Craig Ross, beaten at 19th by Miki Kuronen (Finland).
