SCOTT BORROWMAN TALKS ABOUT HIS PRO

 DEBUT VICTORY IN EGYPT

Not many rookies win a tournament on their pro tour debut. Dollar's Scott Borrowman joined the elite club earlier this week when he won on the new PGA Mediterranean Tour at a Cairo, Egypt venue.
It's not as well known as most of the mini-tours around so how did  Scott track it down?
" I found out about it from one of the tournament directors who contacted me after the Second Stage of the European Tour School last  November," he said.
"I am here for three weeks and return on March 20.
"I won 4350 euros and  the total 30,000 euros purse is the same for the next event. The 'Tour Final' has a purse of 55,000 euros. I am playing next from March 10 to 12 at Palm hills in Cairo and the tour final is March 17 to 19 at Katameya Dunes, Cairo.
"I won the three man play-off with a par. It was a long par 4 and I hit driver then a 4 iron into the back bunker ( not a good miss). My  my fellow competitors, H P Bacher (Austria) and Spain's Xavi Puig, were in better shape than me.
"One was on the green at 40ft the other just short. Both chipped/putted up to 7/6 feet respectively and I hit a good shot to 18ft. My bunker shot was straight downhill down grain on firm greens so 18ft was quite good. I was first to putt and had a uphill left to right putt and thankfully slotted it in at nice pace while the others missed.
"I would like to thank my coach Gregor Monks who has worked tirelessly with me over the last six months and helped me make massive strides with my game. I would also like to thank Graeme Leslie who has been working with me on my putting and it is clear both have had a big influence on my game."
