CHESTERS GOES THREE CLEAR WITH

FINAL 18 HOLES TO CO AT THE DUKE'S

Defending champion Ashley Chesters from Hawkstone Park has opened up a three-stroke lead with one round to play at The Duke's, nr St Andrews, in the European individual amateur championship.
Chesters shot a third-round 69, a repeat of his opening score, for a running total of 210.
Enrico De Nitti (Italy) (69 for 213) was his nearest rival going into the final round.
Leading Scot was Connor Syme (Drumoit) on 2315 after a 72. He is tied eight, one shot ahead of Daniel Young (216).
Third-round play was suspended at 4.30pm Friday due to thunder and lightning. The third round was completed this morning.
