FIVE-SHOT VICTORY FOR EDZELL MAN AT THORNTON

GARY TOUGH WINS FIRST MEETING 

OF MIDLAND ALLIANCE SEASON

The Midland Golfers' Alliance finally got the 2014-2015 season underway at Thornton Golf club, Fife today (Monday) after the postponement of the Muckhart GC meeting last week.

Gary Tough, who plays off +2 at Edzell, started his campaign with a fine one-under-par score of 69 to win the leading scratch prize by five shots from Lundin's Steven Paterson.

There was a tie for the top handicap prize betweem  Paterson, playing off 4, and Brian Main (St Andrews) (14). Both had net 70s.
