SUB-PAR DISPLAY WINS TITLE AT STRATHAVEN

 ED WOOD WINS LANARKSHIRE 

 MATCH-PLAY FINAL 

 

     Ed Wood receives the trophy from Airdrie Golf Club  president John Milne. 

Ed Wood of Crow Wood is the new Lanarkshire match-play champion.

He beat local player Ian Danskin 5 and 4 in the final at Strathaven Golf Club last night with a golfing masterclass peppered with birdies and an eagle.

He went one down after two after three putting but missed very little after that  and produced four birdies and an eagle at the par five eighth which he reached with a drive and a seven iron.
