CROMWELL, Connecticut -- Four times Ryan Moore has finished in the top 15 at the Travelers Championship. Two of those were runner-up finishes.
The only thing he hasn’t done at TPC River Highlands? Win.
After a third-round 66, he’ll have a chance to do just that on Sunday.
Moore is 13 under and has a one-shot lead over Aaron Baddeley. Four others, including Sergio Garcia, are another stroke back.
"It's just funny how weeks go," Moore said. "This is the type of grass and everything I grew up on, and I think I'm comfortable with chipping and the putting aspects on this golf course and I think that's where the success comes from."
It's showed. For a third straight day Moore holed an eagle, this one from just off the green on No. 6. It was the second time this week he has done so on the par 5.
Moore added two more birdies, chipping in again at the par-3 11th and hitting his approach shot to four feet on the 17th on another spectacular day of weather that was ideal for scoring.
For the second time this week, TPC River Highlands played under par and 36 players were in red figures.
Not surprisingly, Moore was one of them.
He is second in the field in fairways hit for the week and fourth in total putts with 81, including 28 on Saturday.
Moore has also taken a laid-back approach to this week’s event after the grind of the U.S. Open at Pinehurst last week.
"I generally don't tend to over practice here in general, but I've even cut back a little bit," Moore said. "I think it's good. I've kind of showed up every day with a good focus and just ready to go play golf."

BADDELEY BOUNCING BACK:
Last year, Aaron Baddeley didn’t know where the ball was going or what was wrong with his swing.
In October, he started working with Grant Waite and Chris Como.
“Those guys really were the first guys really to give me some true understanding what was wrong,” Baddeley said. “Why the ball wasn't going straight.”
It has looked like it through three rounds at TPC River Highlands.
Baddeley shot 65 Saturday and is in position to try for his first win on the PGA TOUR in three years.
“It feels like a long time ago, yet it doesn't in the sense of the feeling of being in this position doesn't feel abnormal,” Baddeley said
During the process Baddeley discovered his right arm was getting stuck behind him and that he had a bad wrist angle into the ball.
He looked at the swings of players who hit the ball straight and saw his arm and wrist were doing the opposite.
“It's been a steady progress of just improving like percent by percent day by day,” he said. “I feel like I'm getting really close to playing some really good golf.”
