We have now confirmed the two St Andrews courses that will be used for the Fife double-header on the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre Scottish Ladies Open Tour.
Fairmont St Andrews have very kindly granted us the courtesy of the Torrance Course for two hours (from 2pm to 4pm) on Monday, August 26.
there are developments.
Fairmont St Andrews head professional John Kerr - who cut his teeth as an assistant PGA pro with Muriel Thomson at Portlethen Golf Club, is carrying a torch for us!
Free practice rounds for all PLGC SLOT competitors - amateurs and professionals - will be granted by John Kerr after 2pm on weekdays with a rate of £30 for anyone wanting to partner the competitor in her practice round.
As co-organiser Nicola Melville, who met John Kerr today, says: "That's a good rate if a friend or parent wants to play too. It is normally £140 - so a big saving there. Also, on the day of the tournament (August 26), Fairmont are doing a deal for PLGC SLOT competitors on practice balls and Strokesavers - £5 for one bucket and one StrokesaverW.
Competitors can now enter online for both St Andrews events on www.scottishladiestour.co.uk
Entry fees do not have to be paid before the draw for the relevant competition has been made and appeard on the PLGC SLOT website.
Incidentally, the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open tees off at Archerfield Links at the end of that week - Friday, August 30 - to be precise.
There is a strong possibility that many of the potential competitors at that Ladies European Tour event will want to sharpen up with a competitive outing on the PLGC SLOT at the beginning of the week ... so get your entries in now for Fairmont St Andrews and The Duke's and reserve your place in both Monday-Tuesday fields before the competition heats up.

And David Scott, director of golf at the Old Course Hotel's The Duke's Course, is giving us 10 tee times from 1.20 to 2.50pm
We hope to negotiate special room rates for competitors at the Fairmont St Andrews Hotel but August is the peak season for them and we will have to wait until nearer the day of the tournament before there are developments.
