Just to let you know that Connor and I finished second in the European Father and Son Championship in Spain.
The event was held at the same course that one of this week's European Tour School Stage 2 events is being played - Lumine, near Tarragona.

It was won by former European Tour pro James Ruth and
his dad Graham from Devon and I see James shot 69(-2) in the first round of the Q School in his
quest to get his tour card back.
We played with them in the first and last rounds. It was great experience for Connor to play with James who is certainly a talent and he took a lot of time chatting to Connor about his game over the week which was nice.
We broke par each day and finished on eight under par for the 54-hole event. We got within a couple of shots with eight holes to play in the last round but James made a few birdies coming in and so we had to settle for second place. This was mostly thanks to Connor's excellent play as I was a little rusty!

It was great week and experience for him as the event is covered by Sky
Sports and we had the cameras following us a fair bit. It will be
televised towards the end of November on Sky.
It really is a great event and if you could give it a little publicity it may encourage more Scottish fathers and sons to play next year.

Unfortunately it doesn't
fall within our school October holidays but maybe still attract a few more pairs,
having been on your websites and TV.
