KNOX WINS A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS
Russell Knox from Inverness earned $13,207 by finishing joint second in the NGA Hooters event, the Ocal Marion Sports Commission Classic at Golden Hills Golf & Country Club, Ocala in Florida today.
Knox, who stayed on at Jacksonville Beach, Florida after four years as a student at Jacksonville University and turned professional, had rounds of 72, 70, 71 and 70 for a five-under-par total of 283 over the par-72, 7301yd course.
He shared second place with American Ted Potter (70-73-71-69), one shot behind Mark Blakefield from Kentucky. Blakefield scooped the $30,000 first prize with scores of 73, 71, 72 and 66 for 282.
