Knox was sharing second place with a four-under-par 68 - one shot off the lead - after the first round in the Winter Series event at Shingle Creek Golf Club, near Orlando, Florida. Knox, Florida-based since his four years at Jacksonville University, birdied the long second, the short fifth, the 10th, the long 12th and the 18th in halves of 35 and 33.
