in final of St Andrews Boys' Open
English teenager Nicky Maddison, the 25th qualifier for the match-play stages, won the St Andrews Boys' Open for the Merchants' Cup. He beat Ian Redford (King James VI), the No 10 seed, by 4 and 2 in the 18-hole final over the Old Course.
