CRAIG RONALD TOP SCOT IN GLENMUIR
PGA PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Carluke’s Craig Ronald was top Scottish finisher in the Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at Moortown, Leeds. He tied for seventh place and earned £1,816.
A third round 68 hoisted him into a challenging position but the afternoon round took its toll in blustery conditions, and he carded a four-over 75.
Jim McKinnon (Irvine) signed off with a 72 for 290 and a pay-out of £1,004.
Gordon Law (Uphall) was another to sprint up the leaderboard as he finished with a fine pair of 68s for an aggregate of 293 and a share of 24th place, which earned him £710.
After a play-off, the title went to Berkshire’s Paul Simpson, who beat last year’s runner-up, Andrew Barnett at the second extra hole to pick up first prize of £10,000 and a certain place in the GB&I team for the PGA Cup match against the United States. Barnett's consolation cheque amounted to £6,280.
