PIRIE AND FIDDES JOINT
12TH IN PORTUGAL

Aberdonians Sandy Pirie (Hazlehead), pictured right, and Alistair Fiddes (Deeside) both hit the six-over-par 75 mark in the first round of the 54-hole Portuguese senior men's open amateur golf championship at Estoril Golf Club today.
They start the second day in joint 12th position behind the Italian leader, Fredico Lang who shot a two-under-par 67 to lead by four shots from Richard Connolly (Brazil) and France's Roger Fontagneres.
Two other Scots are in the field - Colin Moir (Worksop) and John Broadfoot (Turnberry). They returned scores of 78 and 83 respectively.
