WOODS WINS AT WATFORD BY EIGHT STROKES
Tiger Woods won the American Express World Championship series event at The Grove Golf Club, near Watford by eight strokes with a 23-under-par total of 261.
Not even a suspension of play for more than two hours due to a threat of lightning in the area could stop the triumphant march of the World's No 1 golfer who has now won six of these tournaments in a row.
Woods won the 1,015,944 Euros top prize with scores of 63, 64, 67 and 67.
Englishman Ian Poulter - who did not make the European Ryder Cup team, and Australian Adam Scott were joint runners-up on 269, a shot ahead of Jim Furyk who did play in the Ryder Cup.
