KAZAKHSTAN OPEN MYSTERY

Why is Greig Hutcheon's name missing
from the third round in Central Asia?

What happened to Greig Hutcheon (Peterculter), Scotland's only qualifier for the last two rounds of the Kazakhstan Open, between making the cut with rounds of 72 and 71 and not teeing off in the third round?
Lines of communication between this country and the Central Asia Republic, which shares borders with Russia and China, are not as good as say between Aberdeen and Glasgow.
So whether the Banchory man fell ill, twisted an ankle, we don't know. All we know is that he did not play in the third round.
Welshman Mark Pilkington leads the field in pursuit of the richest prize yet to be offered on the Challenge Tour - 48,000 Euros.
Mark has had rounds of 70, 66 and 67 for 13 under par 203.
He leads by one shot from a Spaniard, Alvaro Salto with Zane Scotland and a Norwegian, Peter Kaensche, sharing third place on 10 under par.
Gareth Wright, the West Linton-based Welshman, dropped out of the picture with a third round of 74 - 10 shots more than he required for the second round. He is seven shots off the pace on 210. That's Gareth pictured above right.
