ASHTON STRUGGLES ON DEBUT IN AMERICA
Ashton Ingram from Fort William, now a student at Belmont Abbey College near Charlotte, North Carolina, finished tied for 62nd place in a field of 80 on her debut on the American women's college circuit.
Competing in the Sea Trail Invitational tournament over the Willard Byrd course at Sunset Beach, North Carolina, Ashton had rounds of 88 and 85 for an aggregate of 173.
The winner was Danielle Mills (Elon University) with rounds of 70 and 75 for one-over-par 145.
Elon won the team event with 596. Belmont Abbey, with five freshmen in their squad, came 12th of 14 on 661.
