TIGHT LIES TOUR

 

RHIND WINS A FEW DOLLARS MORE IN TEXAS

 

Lee Rhind from Uphall, winner of the Scottish boys’ open amateur stroke-play championship at Downfield in 1997, won $2,760 for an eighth-place finish in the latest event on the Tight Lies Tour, the Lubbock Open at Hillcrest Country Club, Lubbock in Texas.

Rhind shot 12-under-par 276 with scores of 72, 68, 69 and 67. In his final round the 27-year-old Lee, based in Midland, Texas, had eagle 3s at the fourth and 11th and birdies at the third, 10th, 15th and 18th.

He also had a double bogey at the eighth and a bogey at the 17th.

The winner of the $13,260 first prize was American Daniel Fox with 18-under-par 270 (67-70-67-66).

Rhind has won $6,262 from the four Tight Lies Tour events he has played in since the end of April.
