Monday’s aren’t always so bad. Especially for
Phil Mickelson who earned title number five at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It took an extra day for Lefty to complete his comeback after multiple delays (holy hail) in the Monterey Peninsula. But good things come to those who wait and no one knows this better than Phil. His first title at Pebble Beach came in 1998 after a six-month weather delay. Yes - you read that right. After suffering the infamous “Crosby weather,” play was completed later that August. “Yeah, it's, it means a lot to me to play the final round as focused and as well as I did. That's a big thing for me … So to finish it off and play the way I did yesterday and today means a lot,”
said Mickelson. This win ties Tiger for most wins in the state of California at 14 and matches Mark O’Meara’s record of five trophies in the annual pro-am. He’ll try to go back-to-back when he makes the short trip to Riviera this week for the Genesis Open.
