SOLID START BY GABRIELLE MACDONALD IN MOROCCO

 

Former Scottish women's amateur champion Gabrielle Macdonald, is in joint 17th position after a first-round, two-over-par 74 in the Ladies European Tour Qualifying School pre-qualifier at Marrakesh, Morocco today (Thursday).

Out in level par 36 with a bogey at the fourth and a birdie at the ninth, Gabrielle (pictured) bogeyed both the 10th and 12th in an inward 38.

Sian Evans (England) and Luisa Dittrich (Germany) lead the field of 66 players with three-under-par 69s.

The top 36 and ties after 72 holes will advance to the Final Stage at Amelkis Golf Club, Marrakesh from December 16 to 20.
