Sam Locke steadies the ship with a 70 for

219 at Tour School


Sam Locke (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) from Stonehaven got back on track at the European Tour Qualifying School First Stage Section C 72-hole competition at Frilford Heath Golf Club with a third-round 70 for a 54-hole tally of 219 and a T55 overnight placing.
Locke, winner of the leading amateur medal at the Open at Carnoustie earlier this year, had an eagle 3 at the 10th and birdies at the first, sixth and 13th but he also had bogeys at the fifth, seventh and 18th.
His earlier rounds were 72 and 77.
Another Scot, John Henry (Clydebank and Dist) (72-70-68) is sharing the 54-hole lead with Ireland's Gary Hurley (71-71-68) on six-under-par 210, one ahead of England's Joshua White (72-71-68).
