Paul Robinson (Largs) is the halfway leader at the head of a field of 49 pros at the £14,000 Kerr Investments Order of Merit 36-hole pro-am at Dumfries and Galloway Golf Club.
He shot a seven-under-par 63, comprising of an eagle 3 at the par-5 second and birdies at the first, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth in an outward, seven-under-par 20.
Birdieing the 13th and 15th, Robinson was nine-under-par with two to play and then came a double bogey 6 "catastrophe2 at the 17th.
Paul leads by one from James Erskine (Dumfries and Co) who had halves of 32 in a bogey-free 64. Erskine birdied the first, second, third, eighth, 12th and 18th.
Paul Robinson led the Kerr Investments 2 amateur team to victory by four strokes in the Day 1 pro-am event. They won by five strokes from Jason McCreadie and the Dumfries and Galloway Team 22.
