Nicola Slater wins Bridget Jackson Bowl by five strokes at Handsworth

Nicola Slater (Lindrick), who has a +2 handicap, won the Bridget Jackson Bowl 36-hole tournament at Handsworth Golf Club by the clear-cut margin of five strokes after a brilliant opening round, despite a stiff breeze, of six-under-par 65. She followed that with a 69 for an eight-under-par total of 134 against a CSS of 71 and 72.
Lily Downs (Romanby) was runner-up with scores of 68 and 71 for 139. They finished well clear of the third-placed Penelope Brown (Worthing) on 143 (70 and 73).
