The long spell of dry, sunny weather has transformed the courses at Murcar Links into firm, dry, fast-running links with brown fairways, so the juniors taking part in our Stableford and Flag events today were treated to a test of true links golf.
Paul Lawrie Foundation Under-15s Stableford - Max To (Kemnay) coped best with the tricky conditions and recorded a score of 45pts to win the Under-15s Stableford by one point from Charlotte Jean (Murcar) and Rachel Mathieson (Hazlehead).
Murcar's Andy Bremner finished a couple of points adrift on a score of 42 with Fraser Laid (Alford) a point further back on 41.

Paul Lawrie Foundation Flag Events - In the girls' Under-10s, Amy Blackadder won as she made it to the 7th hole with her 36 shots.
Rhys Yule topped the boys' Under 10s as he reached the 10th hole with his 36.  Oliver Robertson finished as runner-up as his final shot ended just shy of the 9th green.
Becky Sinclair and Katie Cooper tied for third in the Under 12s Girls section with Ruby Watt the runner-up and Catherine Bell the winner as she reached the 8th green.
In the Under 12s Boys, Oli Blackadder again impressed as he reached the 11th hole with his 36 shots.  Fin Sinclair was second and Rudy Wishart 3rd.
