Emily Slater wins Critchley Salver

countback, thanks to an eagle at the last


Emily Slater from Gog Magog Golf Club, Cambridge won the prestigious 36-hole Critchley Salver at Sunningdale Golf Club on Tuesday, thanks to a eagle 3 at the par-15 18th hole.

Sharna Dutrieux (Wrotham Heath) was two strokes ahead of Emily, pictured, and one ahead of Cara Gainer (Castle Royle) with one hole to play.
Sharna finished with a par for rounds of 72-76 and a total of 148.
Cara Gainer birdied the last hole for 73-75 and joined Dutrieux in a share of the lead.
Then Emily's eagle for rounds of 76 and 72 made it a triple tie on 148.
There was no play-off and Emily's eagle 3 was decisive in the countback. She was placed first and Cara's birdie 4 finish placed her second, leaving Sharna to rue her final round of 76 which placed her third.
