Laird Shepherd, Alexa Hammer lead British students' championships at Woodhall Spa

England's Laird Shepherd (Stirling University) has a 10-stroke lead with one round to go in the British student championships' men's category at Woodhall Spa.
Shepherd, who won the Scottish students' title at Lossiemouth a few weeks back, has had scores of 69, 68 and 72 for a 10-under-par tally of 209 over the par-73 course.
In second place is Matthew Myers (St Andrews) with scores of 72, 73 and 74 for 219.
Players with 54-hole tallies of 238 and worse missed the cut.
American Alexa Hammer (St Andrews) has regained the lead in the women's championship with scores of 68, 73 and 74 for four-under-par 215.
But it could be a close-run thing decided by the final round with Stirling's Gemma Batty and deposed leader Chloe Goadby only a shot behind on 216.
Players with three-round aggregates of 230 and better qualified for the final roune.
