Arnott and McCreadie win PGA better-ball with a better-ball 60 at Royal Troon

The experienced pairing of Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs Golf Range) and Jason McCreadie (Largs) combined their talents to win today's £1,590 PGA in Scotland Winter Four-ball competition over the Royal Troon Golf Club links on a really nice day, warm in sunshine and the course was in excellent condition.
They shot a 12-under-par better ball of 60 to head a field of 27 pairs by one stroke and win the £480 first prize.
McCreadie and Arnott went out in 33 and came back in 27, 10 under for the back 9 (actually 10 under for last 8 as they parred 10th). They had better-ball eagles at 13 and 15, the rest birdies. They also eagled 9, birdied 3 and 6 and dropped shots at the first and the seventh.
The last putt Arnott and McCreadie holed was a vital one because it kept them ahead of the four pairs who figured in a quadruple tie for second place on 61, featuring Anthony O'Donnell (Largs) and Stephen Wilson (Dunmdonald Links), Michael Patterson (Kilmacolm) and Paul O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure), Stuart Williamson and Bryan Wharton (both Clydeway Golf), and Ian Young and Paul McKechnie (both Braid Hills Golf Range).
Each of the four pairs earned £252.50.
The Dumfries and County Golf Club pairing of James Erskine and Jordan Brown, and Sam Oliver (Dalmahoy) and Tim Cockill (Close House) completed the prizelist with 62 apiece which earned them £50 per pair.
